4 Sep 2008 - National Dementia Strategy Consultation

National Dementia Strategy Consultation -  Thursday 4th September 2008
10.00 am - 1.00 pm Council Chamber, Shirehall, Shrewsbury

Shropshire is to have its own Consultation event on the National Dementia
Strategy.   This is the final opportunity to explore the Dementia Strategy
and to offer your views to the Department of Health.  The event welcomes
carers, users, vcs organisations who support them, clinicians and any
statutory body which may have a view to express that they wish to feed into
the consultation.  If you are promoting this event to carers and users that
you work with please note that, wherever possible,  there will be respite
care support offered to carers wishing to attend if they request it.

The event will be run by CSIP (Care Services Improvement Partnership West
Midlands) and will be interactive with multiple opportunities to contribute
on the various questions posed in the Consultation.   Your views are
important and valued.  Please make a note of the date and ensure Shropshire
has a voice on this important area of care.

Further details, including  the Strategy itself which is due to be released
later this week, will be circulated to all attendees in advance and the
Strategy Consultation document will be lodged on the Assembly website:
www.shropvcsassembly.org.uk  and look for it on the Consultations page.

To register your place on this event please contact Glenda Jordan, Carer
Support Services Co-ordinator.  Email:glenda.jordan@shropshire-rcc.org.uk
or telephone 01743 341995.
