Web broking site donates portion of fees to charity
A community interest company has launched a financial services website that donates part of its fee to charity.
Community interest company Quotes4Charity provides free mortgage, life cover and insurance quotes to customer, but receives a brokerage fee from financial services companies when it provides a quote. It gives 30 per cent of each fee to the customer to support their chosen charity.
Another 5 per cent is donated by the company to Quotes4Kids, a project that helps disadvantaged children around the world.
The official website, designed to boost the firm’s charitable giving, was launched after a successful pilot campaign in which an average donation of £105 was raised per deal.
The firm hopes fundraisers will sign up to the website so prospective clients can make their donation choice quickly and easily.
“If enough people used us in a month, it could generate in excess of £10m for charity,” said John Mulkerrin, founder of the firm. “This money would go on to make a real difference to so many people’s lives, and is just waiting to be generated.”
